Agility for Fun Classes
Dog Agility is a fast paced sport for humans and dogs. Dog/human teams run a numbered course of challenging physical obstacles. Our Agility for Fun classes are not for competition but for teams that want to exercise and have fun with the sport.
Developing wonderful off leash skills with your dog. Providing physical and mental exercise for your dog. Accomplishing something as a team can create the most amazing bond with your dog.
A dog of any age as long as they are physically sound. This is a physical sport, please consult your vet if you have any doubt as to whether your dog is appropriate for this course. Dogs with hip dysplasia, dogs that are overweight, have had chronic injuries or degenerative conditions would be better suited to our Canine Athlete course. Canine Athlete is low impact physical course that can be adjusted for most dogs.
- No previous training reguired
- Dog must be people & dog friendly (unless in our Reactive Agility course)
- Dog must be physically sound
- Handlers must be able to hold and maintain control over their dog
- Handlers will have to be able to move quickly with their dog
- No reactive dogs please (unless in our Reactive Agility course)
Introduction to Agility (all ages)
In this 6 week course we will introduce you to foundation agility skills. We will cover safety, body awareness, introduce your dogs to obstacles, work some minor obedience skills, and go over some beginner handling skills used in agility.
This 6 week course is a continuation of Intro to Agility. You and your dog will learn more obstacles, start minor sequencing, and have more difficult training challenges.
Introduction Into Sequencing
In this 6 week course we will start obstacle sequencing. Learn how to read and direct the dog through an agility course. Master the obstacle that we have previously taught. Practice proofing obstacles. This class is fast paced and a lot of fun!
Ruff Rovers Agility (Reactive Dogs)
This 6 week agility course is designed for dogs that might not be suitable for a regular agility class. This class will only have one dog on the floor at a time, smaller class size, longer class time, and each dog will receive individual attention. We will cover everything that we do in a regular class; safety, body awareness, introduce your dogs to obstacles, work some minor obedience skills, and go over some beginner handling skills used in agility.
Dogs must have:
- No Human bite history
- Be able to be crated in between practice time
- Be able to work for treats outside
